Citizenship and Global News at Post 16
The following is based on the QCA's Post
16 Citizenship Guidance (QCA, June 2004) which offers
a framework for citizenship
teaching
and learning at Post 16.
Post-16 citizenship should give young people opportunities
to:
- identify, investigate and think critically about
citizenship issues, problems or events of concern to them
- decide
on and take part in follow-up action, where appropriate
- reflect on, recognise
and review their citizenship learning.
The Global News activities provide
an excellent opportunity to address many of the learning objectives of
Post 16 citizenship.
